Gar Kee Wu
Gar Kee Wu -
Teacher, Pōhutukawa Hub
Kia Ora!
I grew up in Hamilton and completed a Bachelor of Communications with a double major in Screen Media and Sport and Leisure at the University of Waikato. This led me to working amongst various local youth and family communities including being an advocate for young adults on the Hamilton City Youth Council Panel, hosting my own radio show and assisting in organizing the Waikato Bay of Plenty Mens, Women and Youth Football League.
In 2016, I moved to Wellington to manage an after school care programme and work as a teacher aide. During this time, staff members and friends encouraged me to pursue the teaching profession, so not long after, I entered the Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching.
Outside of school I am a bit of a foodie (both parents are chefs), enjoy football, paddle boarding and music festivals. I thrive in making new connections, so come and say "hello" whenever you see me!
