  • Year 3 Focus Group Meeting - 5-6pm Thursday 3 August

Revised Moving Date for Pōhutukawa - Monday 7 August

I'm sure that you have all already heard the great news that the move to the new hub has been brought forward and will now happen on Monday 7 August.

The blessing will take place pre-dawn that morning with Pōhutukawa moving in during school time the same day. When the final details have been arranged, all of our Amesbury whānau will receive an invitation to come along to the blessing and have a look around.

So, save the date in your calendar.

Scholastic's Book Club - Latest Issue now Available

Issue 5 is now out, so have a look through and pick up something special.

Cultural Festival

We are holding a Cultural Festival in Term 4 and Gina is looking for your expertise.

Celebrating our Ākonga

Kirat is compiling a list of out-of-school achievements that have occurred over the last few months and she would like for you to provide her with this information so that we can share it with the Amesbury Community.

If you and your tamariki have something that they would like to share, preferably with some photos, please email kirat@amesbury.school.nz with the information by 15th September 2023.

Mihi Whakatau

We had our Term 3 mihi whakatau this week where we had 14 new students formally joining our Amesbury whānau.

Junior Swimming Carnival

The Junior Swimming Carnival was held last week with the focus being on having a safe and fun time in the water. However, there was also a competitive side for some of our younger tamariki.

You can read all about it in Davina's report on the day's activities, together with plenty of action photos.

Netsafe Parent Information Session - Now on 15 August

The Netsafe Parent Information has now been rescheduled to 5-6pm on Tuesday 15 August in the school hall.

The session will focus on supporting adults to keep our tamariki safe online.

If you are planning to attend please complete the rsvp form. If you already completed the form for the earlier planned session, we would ask that you resubmit the form.

Fusion Food Haus’ promo of a Free Muffin

Fusion Food Haus supplies our Halal friendly lunches on Wednesdays.

Fusion Food Haus is going to include a free Red Velvet nut free muffin again for all orders from the ‘Kid size menu’ for the first 2 weeks of August

Please note that all Fusion Food Haus muffins are nut-free. They also moderate the quantity of sugar so as not to make them overly sweet.

Kelly Club

This coming week at Kelly Club is themed ‘Amazing Animals!’ where we will be baking bunny biscuits, playing some games the kids have made, including ‘Animal Statutes’ and ‘Musical Animal Tag.’ We will also be having a very crafty time, making animal plates and will finish off the week with a movie night! - book in through this link to join in the fun! https://kellyclub.co.nz/kelly_events/view/15007.

NZSO Open Doors - Saturday 29 July

The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra is very excited to announce the NZSO are returning to Wellington's Michael Fowler Centre for Open Doors on Saturday 29 July. Our musicians are going to be running several fantastic events – there will be something for everyone!

  • Tamariki Time 10:00 – 10:45 (Renouf Foyer)
  • Relaxed Concert 11:30 – 12:15 (Renouf Foyer)
  • Instrument Jams 1:30 – 2:30 (Renouf Foyer)
  • NZSO Foundation Violin Masterclass 3:00 – 4:45 (Renouf Foyer 1)
  • NZSO Foundation Cello Masterclass 3:00 – 4:45 (Renouf Foyer 2)

All Open Doors events are free to the public but do require registration.
