Thomas George Macarthy Trust - Library Grant
Amesbury School is enormously grateful to the Thomas George Macarthy Trust for it's most generous grant of $2000 which will be used for the purchase of books for the school library.
The Trust has provided the school with a biennial library grant since the school opened. This has assisted Amesbury to obtain a range of high quality library books for students' enjoyment and learning.
Beach Education
This week is Beach Education for:
Years 0-2
Years 5-6
Following the links above will provide you with information as to what pack for your child/ren, and also which day your child/ren will be attending.
Beach Education for Years 3-4 will take place next week (Wednesday 1 December).
Just a reminder to please check your Kindo account to see if you have any outstanding Beach Education invoices waiting to be paid.
'Pack the Bus'
Wellington Breeze is once again sponsoring the 'Pack the Bus' donation drive.
'Pack the Bus' is an initiative that supports Wellington City Mission to help families to access food and toys for their tamariki in order to make this Christmas a happy one for all.
There is a collection point in the office and next Wednesday (1 December) the bus will arrive to pick up all the generous donations for distribution prior to Christmas. Pōhutukawa students are overseeing this donation drive.

Scholastic Book Fair 2021
The annual Scholastic Book Fair starts on Wednesday this week.
Due to Alert Level 2 protocols parents are unable to come onsite to the book fair, but the kids will view the books with their hubs and make up a wish list that they will bring home for parents to see and complete the necessary details.

Camp Week
Next week (Week 7: 29 November - 3 December) is camp week.
The years 3-4 camp will proceed as planned. The latest notice is linked here. It contains all of the information around what to bring, when to be at school, and medical details.
Amaria advised parents a few days ago of the last minute changes to the years 0-2 camp.
Parents have also been advised that the years 5-6 camp to the South Island will not be going ahead, however, teachers have been busy organising an alternative week of activities. this task is now complete and all of the information can be found here. Please read it carefully as it contains all the what, where, when answers, and also complete the Consent Form which is included.
Junior Athletics Carnival
For those with children in Years 0-2 who unfortunately were unable to join us for the junior athletics carnival please follow this link for the story and a large array of photos as they enjoyed a range of running, jumping and throwing.
Kindo - Families Leaving Amesbury
If your family is leaving our school and moving to another school that does not use ezlunch or Kindo for school payments, you need to close your account. If you’re not sure about the new school, log in, go to My Details and click on the list of schools, scrolling to find your new school.
If your new school is NOT on the list, use the 'close account' button on that screen. You can choose to donate your balance to school or have it paid out to your nominated bank account. Please wait until your child has finished school for the year before you close the account.

Cultural Programme 2022
As a school, we acknowledge the importance of exposing our students to the different cultures present in the world and especially to highlight the cultural diversity present in our community as a way to support them in a globalised world.
For this reason, we are looking into how we can implement a sustainable cultural programme for the coming year (2022). We acknowledge that you are the best source of knowledge about your culture, and we believe that your input is essential in ensuring that we cater and take into account the aspects of culture that are of most importance to you and our tamariki.
We would appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to answer some questions in this form. These questions are also being shared with your child/ren as their input is as valuable as yours.

FleecesSome students seem to be wearing fleeces that have someone else's name in them when they can't find theirs. Please check and refresh the names on fleeces so they can be easily read. Any that have mistakenly been worn home can be returned to the office to be reunited with their owner. Thanks.
