As we head towards the end of Term 1 we cordially invite all parents, whanau and friends along to our Term 1 Learning Celebration, which will be held in the form of a Learning Expo.
During our expo students will be placed all around the school with learning they are proud of and want to share with others, such as plays, stories, art work, music or skills learned in electives. People are invited to walk around the whole school, talking with students about their learning and looking at the array of learning that has been going on over the term.
Our learning expo will begin in the hall at 1:45pm on Friday 15th April (last day of term). We will begin with a couple on songs, with students then heading out around the school to present their learning. We will end up back in the hall at 2:30pm to present our three Amesbury Awesomeness Awards for the term (one from Te Rito Hub, one from Koru Hub and one from Harakeke Hub). The expo will end at 2:45, with students heading back to their hubs to farewell each other for the term.
We hope to see lots of you there!
Finally, as an aside, we have a group of students who are involved in the SPCA electives on Fridays. They have been looking at various ways to help out the SPCA and animals in general. A small group of students is holding a bake sale after school this Friday (8th April), with the cooking elective group kindly donating some of their wares as part of the bake sale. The sale will happen outside Harakeke Hub at 3pm, with a delicious variety of slices and biscuits available. Items will cost either $1 or $2; please bring coins rather than notes, to help us out. It would be a delicious way to end the week!
Thanks again, the Amesbury Team
