Term 1 in Pōhutukawa
Lots of exciting things happened in Pōhutukawa this term.
Emma has compiled a comprehensive list of what our Year 4-6 tamariki did, what they learnt, and what they experienced. Read all about it here.
Touch Rugby
The six Amesbury teams have had a great term of touch rugby. Reports from all of the teams were that the tamariki had enjoyable experiences and developed their skills immensely.
Read all about it here and see some great action shots.
Kī-o-Rahi Festival
A fun time had by all three teams representing Amesbury at the Kī-o-Rahi Festival held at Nairnville Park.
Kī-o-Rahi Festival is a game that our tamariki have been learning in school this term so it was great opportunity for them to play against other schools.
Lots of skills were on display and you can read all about it here.
Absences from School
As we have had a small number of students absent with gastro type symptoms this week, a friendly reminder that (per Ministry of Health guidelines) following vomiting or diarrhoea, a child should have no symptoms for 48 hours before they can return to school. This also includes ongoing symptoms such as temperature, stomach pains, nausea, vomiting and or diarrhoea. Please do let us know in the Hero 'additional information' field if this is the reason for absence as this helps us to track any trends and so we can advise our school community to be on the lookout.
Reporting an Absence
The primary way to report a daily absence is via the "Report an Absence" icon on the front page of your Hero App. The website absence form has now been disabled, so for any future or extended leave, or other messages regarding absence e.g. appointment pickups during the day, you're most welcome to email me: office@amesbury.school.nz.
For extended time out of school during term time you are also required to advise/submit a request to the Principal by email - urs@amesbury.school.nz.
