What's on this week?
School Photos Next Week
The timetable is for all photos - except sports team - to happen on Tuesday (25 July). With the sports team photos and anyone who was away on Tuesday to have their photos taken on Thursday (27 July).
Mihi Whakatau on Monday @ 2.15pm
If you are available on Monday, we would love for you to join us as we formally welcome all the new tamariki and their whānau who have joined Amesbury since our last mihi whakatau at the beginning of the year.
The mihi whakatau will take place in the Hall at 2.15pm on Monday (24 July).
FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony
We had a group of ākonga performing waiata and proudly representing Amesbury at the opening ceremony of the FIFA Women's World Cup on Thursday on the Wellington waterfront.
Let's claim that their performance inspired New Zealand's Football Ferns to later that evening win their first ever match at a World Cup. Well done the Ferns!
New Zealand's next match is here in Wellington against the Philippines and I, together with a large contingent of my whānau, will be going along to support the Ferns in what, hopefully, will be their second successive win. (My apologies to Amesbury's Filipino whānau for my bias).
Mid-Year Student Achievement Data
This year's Mid-Year Student Achievement Data has been collated and is now available here.
It demonstrates trends of student achievement at a level that does not identify individuals or groups.
New Zealand Playhouse presents 'Treasure Island'
On Thursday we were treated to New Zealand Playhouse's rendition of 'Treasure Island'.

Kelly Club
Next week we will be fundraising for ‘Red Nose Week’ to raise money for Cure Kids!
We have such an exciting week planned where we will be making sherbet and jewellery to sell, painting noses red, having an incredible raffle to enter into as well as a Kelly Club Bingo where the winner gets a great prize! We will also have a ‘guess the marbles in the jar’ game where the person who gets closest to the number will win a prize! All of these games require a small donation to enter into in order to fundraise for Cure Kids. We are so excited to help make a difference for kids in need - book in through this link to join in the fun and make a difference! https://kellyclub.co.nz/kelly_events/view/15007
We are so grateful for everyone who will help us make this week a success and raise money for such an important cause! We will be painting noses and having a sale out the front of the school so all non-Kelly Club parents and kids are invited to join our efforts for fundraising!
