School Photos

Just a few last minute touch ups and the annual school photos - taken earlier this term -will be available for viewing and purchase.

Urs will send out a HERO post during the holidays with all of the details that you need, so please keep an eye out for that.

Share and Celebrate Week 10

We had our fortnightly Share & Celebrate on the last day of term with the added extra of handing out the Amesbury Awesomeness Awards for the term - always a time that is looked forward to with anticipation.

To see who received what and why go to Urs's article.

Embracing Community Through Learning: Churtonleigh Hospital

A number of our older ākonga journeyed to Churtonleigh Hospital to spend time with the residents. It was a mutual benefit and learning experience for both our students and the residents.

Take the time to read through Kirat's article to see what activities ākonga and residents participated in.

Building Healthy Futures in Koru Hub

Amaria has covered a few areas of Koru Hub activity in the first half of the year.

It's an opportunity to read about what has been happening even if your child is not Year 1-3.

Pōhutukawa in Term 2

Emma has provided a comprehensive report on what has been happening in Pōhutukawa Hub this term.

Please take the time to read about the range of activities that occurred, even if your tamariki are not based in Pōhutukawa.

Amesbury's Got Talent Results

If you haven't already received the results by word of mouth here are this year's Amebury's Got Talent results.

From my seat in the audience and subsequently talking to the judges, their task this year was not an easy one. The quality was high and very little separated the participants performances. So congrats to everyone.

Co-curricular Classes in Term 3

We expanded our offering of co-curricular lessons in Term 1 and, during the term, we offered a number of Taster sessions for our tamariki to try a few different lessons. There was a pleasingly large uptake to this offer. If your child participated and you haven't already talked to them about their experience, please do, and then consider signing up for lessons in Term 2.

For everyone else, co-curricular classes are still available and we'd encourage you to sign up if there are any that you think that your child would like to participate in.

For information about our co-curricular programme please view our webpage and if you have any questions that aren't covered or you wish to sign up please contact John (communications@amesbury.school.nz).

Our existing co-curricular students and those that have already advised that they wish to start in Term 2 are already on the lists and will all receive invoices early next week for Term 2. If you wish to make any changes to existing lessons, please let John know as soon as you can.

Northern Zone Hockey

Amesbury had two teams representing the school at the recent Northern Zone Hockey Tournament.

It was a great opportunity for players to show off their skills, and represent the school, their whānau, and themselves with pride, which they unanimously did.

Please read here for a report on the day's events.

Kelly Club

We finished up the term with Red Nose Week, where we worked on fundraising money for Cure Kids. Thank you everyone for participating in our efforts, as we raised over $400! We are so grateful to this beautiful community for helping us help the kids.

To end things, we wanted to say thank you for a lovely Term 2. It has been a real pleasure hanging out with everyone, and we can't wait to see you all in the Holidays!
