Here is a breakdown of what we are doing and when:
Monday 27th November: Wellington Zoo day trip (all students)
Wednesday 29th November: walk and picnic to Churton Park Reserve
Thursday 30th November: overnight camp at school
Friday 1st December: shared breakfast for children who stayed overnight. The children who do not stay overnight can arrive back at school from 8:30am.
Wellington Zoo Day Trip - Monday 27th November
We are looking for parent volunteers to help us on the day of the Wellington Zoo trip. We could not do this without the help of our parents and extended whānau members. If you would like to volunteer for the day, please contact Hannah directly: hannah@amesbury.school.nz.
We are leaving promptly in the morning, so please ensure your child is at school at 8.30am for the roll check and loading the bus. The bus will leave promptly at 9am. The children will eat morning tea and lunch at the zoo. We will be leaving the zoo at approximately 2:15pm and arriving back at school at 2:45pm. Please ensure your child has comfortable shoes, a hat, a raincoat, water and plenty of food!
Churton Park Reserve Trip - Wednesday 29th November
During the school day, we will be walking to the Churton Park Reserve. Please ensure your child has comfortable shoes, a hat, a raincoat, water and plenty of food!
Overnight Stay - Thursday 30th November
We are also looking for parent volunteers to help us with preparing and serving the food for dinner on Thursday 30th November and for the breakfast service in the morning of Friday 1st December. These volunteers do not stay overnight. If you wish to help out, please contact Gina: gina@amesbury.school.nz.
The overnight camp will take place at school for those that have chosen this option. Those students staying over will return to school at 5pm (in non-uniform) with their overnight gear (a gear list will be sent prior to the stay). We will have a shared dinner together and then sleep overnight in the Hub.
Friday 1st December
We will have a shared breakfast and get ready for the day, with students who have stayed over.
The children who do not stay overnight can arrive back at school from 8:30am. All children can wear non-uniform for the day.
Cost:
We are still confirming costs for these trips and camp, but we expect it to be no more than $25 for the day trips and no more than $35 for the overnight stay (this includes the day trip, dinner on Thursday and breakfast, morning tea, and lunch on Friday).
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s whānau teacher.
Warm regards,
Koru Hub Team
