School Notices: 9-16 May

Welcome back to Term 2!

Gumboots, slippers and spare clothing

As we kick in to the Autumn and Winter seasons, please feel free to send gumboots and slippers to school. We also encourage you to put a plastic bag with spare clothing in the bottom of your child's bag (especially for those who's children love to play outside at lunch!) We have a very limited supply of black bottoms, so we encourage you to pack spares. 

Key dates to diary:

  • Harakeke swimming lessons start on Tuesday of Week 2. 
  • Whole school cross country is on Thursday of Week 2. 
  • School powhiri coming up on Monday of Week 3.

New parent information session

As a parent of a recent or upcoming new entrant we would like to remind you about the New Entrant Parent Information Session being held next Monday, 14th May 3.30-4.30pm. An email has been sent to all new entrant parents. 

Lunch orders Term 2: Please see the updated lunch order options for Term 2 here. Please note lunches are only available on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

  • Wednesday - Filled rolls, savouries, fruit, drinks and sweet treats from Wellington's famous Nada Bakery. Check out the menu of options here, and click here to order.
  • Thursday - Pizza Day! Fresh cheese pizza from Dominoes, delivered just in time for lunch! Order through the school shop.
  • Friday - Pita Pit sandwiches are healthy and filling, a perfect finish to the school week. Check out the menu of options here, and click here to order. 

Library

Parents are welcome to pop in to the library on Wednesday mornings between 9am and 10am to help out with some book covering.

Co-curricular lessons

If you have not already done so, please attend to immediate payment of term 2 co-curricular lessons. Many thanks to those who have done so. 

Resource Request in Koru hub

Resources for the 'maker space' in Koru... Small boxes/ clean plastic bottles/ egg boxes/ lunch wrap tubes - (not toilet rolls).  Any donations will be gladly received. 

Missing Fleeces

It's time for another label check of your children's clothing. The Baileys have 2 lost fleeces at the moment - size 8. Both properly labelled and one of which was brand new.  Could we please encourage you to double check your children's clothing so we can help locate these 2 fleeces. Thank you! Attention Choir parents: Can your children please bring a named clear file for artsplash music this term? Doesn’t have to be a new one or a particularly big one, just something to keep words tidy and safe, as there will be lots of songs to learn!

KELLY SPORTS TERM 2 2018:

Kelly Sports will be back in Term 2 with their fun and exciting classes.

“Wicked Winter Sports” (Yrs 1-4) – Friday 3.05pm-4.05pm - Come and try Football, Basketball, Hockey and Volleyball. Try 2 weeks each of these sports. We use games & drills to teach game sense and team play.

It’s a great way to try new sports, learn new skills and improve ability. We use games & drills to teach game sense and team play. Learn the fundamental skills for all sports – throwing, running, jumping, striking, balance and many more – all while having a great time!
