ICAS Exams 2021

Kapa Haka Performance Group

Our Kapa Haka group will be performing at the annual St Brigids Kapa Haka Festival next month.

The group has been working hard on their performance for the event, knowing too that Amesbury will be hosting the event next year.

As a part of the organisation Amaria sent out a notice to all parents of tamariki involved, asking them to complete a permission slip by last Friday. If you haven't completed this yet please do so as soon as possible because, without it, your child will be unable to attend. You will find all of the details in a Amaria's Hero notice on 2 August.

Year 6 Whānau

Kalesha has sent out a Google Form on Hero regarding the intermediate schools that your children will attend in 2022. Please take the time to read the information detailed on the form and submit a response. Here is a link to the form for easy access. Ngā mihi.

Learning Celebration - 1.50pm Thursday 19 August

While you have had notice of next week's Learning Celebration in a number of ways already, please make sure you have it listed in your calendar to come along and see what the kids have done in the second of our three teaching & learning modules this year. This last week my office has been the home of some of the science projects which I have spent some time studying closely (instead of working).

We will also be handing out three more Amesbury Awesomeness Awards - who will it be this time?

Scholastic Book Club

The next selection from the Scholastic Book Club is now available and your tamariki should already have brought home a copy of the catalogue.

Check Regina's article for all the details including the cut off date and an online copy of the catalogue.

Red Nose Week at Amesbury Kelly Club

This week, (9-13 August), Amesbury Kelly Club will be fundraising for Cure Kids NZ. We have a week jam packed full of fun activities.

On Tuesday we will be having a bake sale out the front of Amesbury school, and it is open to everyone. We will also have face painting, which is also open to anyone (even those outside of Kelly Club - for a gold coin donation). Please bring some money and help support an amazing cause

Why Red Nose Day? Red Nose Day is Cure Kids' biggest annual appeal. Our purpose is to fund 'big research for little lives.' We focus on funding amazing researchers who are coming up with ways to save, extend and improve the lives of kids who are living with serious health conditions. Cure Kids-funded researchers live right here in NZ, and they're developing clever ways to help kids not just in our country, but across the whole world! With Red Nose Day being our biggest appeal, it's our chance to raise as much money as possible to continue this important work.
