Monday 11th Dec

  • Year 5 Beach Education at Worser Bay. Leaving school at 9am.
  • Year 6 transition trip into town. Be at school for 8:45am and students will return for 3pm. All Year 6 ākonga to wear uniform, please - makes them easy for us to spot as they shop! More details about this trip are in a separate article in this digest.
  • Year 6 graduation dinner in Amesbury Hall from 5:30-8pm. All families have had separate invitations for this. See you there!

Tuesday 12th Dec

  • Year 6 Beach Education at Worser Bay. Leaving school at 9am.
  • End of year reports (including co-curricular reports) go live on HERO

Wednesday 13th Dec

  • Non uniform day for all ākonga - wear your own clothes
  • Water play fun in block 2 (11:30am-12:50pm). Students can choose from a variety of water-based activities, including an optional water fight on the netball courts (students can bring a water gun for this). If students want to participate in the water play, they need to bring togs and a towel. It may pay to have some dry items in their bag, just in case! They all must have a sunhat. There will also be non-water based activities for those who wish to stay dry.

Thursday 14th Dec

  • Final day of school for the year. All ākonga to wear school uniform, please
  • Farewell celebration 9:15-10am in the hall - farewelling all staff and ākonga who are leaving
  • 11:30am-1pm School sausage sizzle picnic in whānau groups on the school field (weather permitting). Sausages and ice blocks provided by the school (no money required). Vegetarian and gluten free options will be available. Please still send some lunch with your children, to complement the kai provided by the school.
  • School closes for the year at 1pm. Ākonga can be picked up from the school field at 1pm. Kelly Club will begin at 1pm for those children heading to After School Care.

If you have any questions about any of these events, please contact your child's whānau teacher.

We thank you all for your ongoing support for the school; it has been a busy and exciting year and we have all thoroughly enjoyed it. Have a lovely summer break with whānau and friends, and we look forward to seeing you in the new year.

Warm regards,

The Amesbury team
