What's on?
School supervision hours
Hubs are open for students from 8:30am onwards.
We ask that students do not arrive at school prior to 8:30am, as they are not supervised by teachers at this time.
Also, there is no supervision of students after 3.15pm and the office/library closes at 3.30pm.
Call for any reading books that are lurking under beds at home!
We have a lot of reading books yet to be returned to school.
We love that books are being used and read at home. However, we are looking to complete a stock take of our books over the holiday, so having all books back at school before the end of the year would be very useful.
Thanks for your help with this.
Library will be closed from week 8 (from 2 December 2019) for stocktake
Please advise your child/children to return all their borrowed books by Friday Week 7 (29 November 2019).
On Wednesday 4 December Regina will need some help with the stocktake. If you're free for an hour or so and can help Regina with this, that would be great so that our Library is tidy and ready for 2020.
Endurance Cycle Race sponsorship money
Just a reminder that all sponsorship money is due for the Endurance Cycle race held recently. Please have the money to school by Wednesday (27 November).
'Pack the Bus'
This year Amesbury School is participating in the Wellington City Mission Christmas Charity event ‘Pack the Bus’.
During December the ‘Bus’ travels around Wellington picking up donations of Food and Gifts, which are then distributed to those families in need over the Christmas period.
On Wednesday 4 December the ‘Bus’ will be arriving at school to ‘Pack’ all of the donations made by students & families of Amesbury School.
We need your help! It would be great if your child could bring something to donate to this worthy cause. The options are endless, some ideas are: cans of food, crackers, cereals, chippies, toiletries and of course festive items such as biscuits/chocolates. All food items need to be sealed and non perishable.
There will be a collection point in the office foyer from Monday 25 November. Wouldn't it be great if our donations could be placed all along the length of the ‘drop off zone’ at School. If you have any questions please contact Belinda Beazer (Jack & Greta Eglinton’s mum) (bbeazer@hotmail.com) or talk to Regina or Rachel at School.
Lost and FoundDo you have a pair of sports shoes at home (very similar to the ones shown in the photo) that seem a little too big??
This smaller sized pair were left at school and you may have accidentally taken someone else's larger US size 6 pair. If so, please see Rachel at the office to do a swap!
Have you lost a size 4 fleece? There is one at the office with a name too tricky to decipher.
Conjunctivitis
We have had a report of a student with conjunctivitis (sometimes called Pink Eye or Sticky Eye). Here is a LINK to further information about the condition.
Uniform
Please, note that jeans are not part of the school uniform even if they are black.
