School Open Morning

Just a reminder that the School Open Morning is being held on Tuesday 17 March and there are still a few spaces left.

We held our first open morning last year, and it proved to be very popular and useful for parents and whānau who were interested in seeing how learning happened at school. We know that teams and learning spaces have changed since last year, and this is a good opportunity to see how the spaces are operating.

If you wish to attend, it is important for you to RSVP via the School Open Morning form. There is a limit on the number of responses that will be accepted because we do not want to inundate the hubs with too many parents. We would rather offer it again next term. Also, if you wish to attend you must be at the introductory session being held in the hall at 9.10am.

Newspaper Wanted

Does anyone have any newspaper that they can give to Koru Hub? If you do, could you drop it off in the Hub. It would be greatly appreciated.

Calling all scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians – we need your help!

Some of our students will be taking part in the Wonder Project Rocket Challenge in Term 2. It’s an amazing programme designed to get young Kiwis excited about STEM – science, technology, engineering and maths. The programme pairs STEM professionals with teachers to deliver the learning. However, we need more volunteers to help our kids design, build and launch water rockets!

Keen to help? It only requires 1 hour a week for 6–8 weeks during Term 2. The Wonder Project team provides all training and resources, including a rocket kit, a rocket launcher and all the learning modules.

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to guide young people on the Rocket Challenge. We are looking for passionate and committed professionals working in STEM fields who want to make a real difference – and inspire wonder in the minds of young people in their community.

Found Property

Surely someone recognizes some of this found property - especially the helmets! Perhaps someone with one cold hand or one cold foot?
