Co-curricular Lessons

Reports

Our co-curricular lessons have finished for the year and our teachers have written brief comments for each student. These comments have been added to your tamariki's HERO link "Report Comment". (This where you find all of their other school reports). Please email John (communications@amesbury.school.nz) if there are any errors or you have any questions.

Cost Increases

Our co-curricular lesson costs have not increased for five years and even then the increase was a modest $1 on some but not all lessons. Since that time the cost of kaiako (teachers) and resources has steadily increased. This has resulted in a significant reduction in profitability. Although the lessons were created to be of benefit to ākonga (students), they were always designed to be an ongoing source of revenue for the school to provide, in part, those extras that assist the learning of our tamariki.

As a result, the Board has agreed to increase the cost of lessons but still leave them significantly cheaper than what the commercial music schools charge. The updated costs have been included on our co-curricular webpage.

2025 Sign Ups & Invoicing

We have scheduled the start of 2025 co-curricular lessons for Week 2. The first Wednesday lesson will be held on 5 February, with Fridays starting on 7 February.

Our plan is to send out co-curricular invoices for Term 1 in mid January. These will be sent to all tamariki currently taking co-curricular lessons and continuing at Amesbury next year. If you wish to add or change lessons please contact John before the invoices are sent out as it reduces the administration significantly.

Ngā mihi,

The Amesbury team
