What's on this week?
Te Papa Dinosaurs Trip - Notice 2
Angela has provided an update for the Te Papa trip which will be taking place in Week 4 - Tuesday 20 February for Koru & 22 February for Pōhutukawa.
One thing that is still needed is more parent help on the trips to ensure that our ākonga (students) remain safe and that they have an enjoyable and worthwhile learning experience.
While payment for the trip is not compulsory, it would be appreciated if parents could make a $19 contribution - which is tax deductible. Details as to how to do this are set out in the information article.
Co-curricular Lessons - begin this Wednesday
Lessons begin week (14 February) - so if you wish to sign your tamariki (child/ren) up for any of the lessons, please do so without delay.
It's been great to see the numbers that are taking advantage of the new lessons on offer (singing and rhythmic gymnastics), but there has also been increased numbers enrolled in all of our other lessons too.
If you know nothing about the lessons please read the Co-curricular Lessons article and also our webpage. Please email John (communications@amesbury.school.nz) if you have any questions or you wish to sign your child up for the term for them to try something new. It really is as easy as that.
Learning in Action
This year the Hubs have been set up differently to last year.
In order to give you an idea of what that looks like, Urs has put together a brief overview which you are encouraged to read and see for yourself via the photo array included.
Share & Celebrate
We has our first "Share & Celebrate" this afternoon.
What's it all about and what happened? Find out by reading Urs's hot off the press article.
Kelly Club
This coming week is all about celebrating love!
We will play games, make flower bouquets and heart slime, and decorate cupcakes. We can't wait to feel the love in the air!
Kelly Sports - Back to School Sports - start this Tuesday
Kelly Sports is back at Amesbury School for Term 1! Kelly Sports encourages children to have fun, build confidence and to give sport a go.
We believe that sport and physical activity has so much to offer young people; it improves fitness, develops communication skills, team work and gives them a place to channel their energy.
Back to School Sports (Years 0-4) – Tuesday’s 3.05pm-4.05pm – The sports we will focus on this term are: Athletics, Ultimate Frisbee, Turbo Touch and Dodgeball.
It’s a great way to try new sports, learn new skills and improve ability. We use games & drills to teach game sense and team play. Your child will learn the basic fundamental skills for all sports – throwing, running, jumping, striking, balance and many more – all while having a great time!
Sessions start this Tuesday (13 February) and run for 8 weeks.
