ICAS Exams 2021
Just a reminder that ICAS exams will take place in August.
For those interested, there are a few dates to remember - one of which is this week.
If you haven't done so already please read this article which has everything that you need to know.
Sausage Sizzle
On Thursday 3rd June we will hold our annual Junior Invitational Cross Country event for our year 1-3 students. More information has been sent to participating whānau.
Following the event, we will hold a sausage sizzle - at morning tea time. We invite you to order sausages for your child(ren) through our school Kindo shop. Sausages will cost $2. We ask that you have your order completed by 2pm on Monday 31st May. As the sausage sizzle will be held at morning tea time, we ask you to ensure that your child(ren) also have their own lunch for the day.
Co-curricular Drums Lessons - now available
We have finally engaged a replacement drums teacher.
His name is Jackson and he is an extremely likeable young man who is currently playing in two bands, taking a commercial music degree at Massey, and has experience teaching drums both on his own account and also for the Goodtime Music Academy.
We have spaces available so if you would like to sign your child/ren up for drums - or any other co-curricular lessons - please contact John communications@amesbury.school.nz.
Donations made to Amesbury School
If you wish to find out about making donations to Amesbury and why they are important to the running of the school please read this information provided by the Board of Trustees.
If you have already made donations to Amesbury School you can now obtain a receipt from Kindo which you can supply to the IRD and claim 33.33c in the dollar back.
Wet weather clothing backup
With winter on the way, so are the puddles and mud. Please pack a spare set of shorts/track pants/leggings, and underpants in the school bag (for all ages) with a plastic bag to put the wet clothes in, and let your child know that they are there for them.
For some children it can be quite upsetting when they unexpectedly become wet or dirty (particularly if there isn't anything for them to change into) or they don't like what is available. We have limited space to hold a small selection of spares but are not always able to cater for all sizes and requests.

Marsden School Production 25-28 May
You are warmly invited to attend the Marsden School Year 10-13 production of Chicago - High School edition. There will be plenty of ‘razzle dazzle’.
Chicago - the High School Edition is a satirical look at fame, justice, and the media machine. Set in 1920s Chicago, it follows Roxie Hart, a wannabe vaudevillian star who murders her lover and is arrested, despite her attempts to convince her pushover husband, Amos, to lie for her. In jail, Roxie meets the famed double-murderess and nightclub performer Velma Kelly. When both acquire the same lawyer, tensions come to a head as they vie for the spotlight.
