Phones, Reading, Writing and Maths
The Government has regulated the use of student's phones in school, as well as the requirement to provide of teaching & learning for each of reading, writing & maths.
Please read Urs's article as to how Amesbury School will meet these requirements.
Share & Celebrate Week 6
We held our third Share & Celebrate event this week, recognising not only the obvious but also those tamariki who did things that could normally go unseen but help other ākonga and our school environment.
Please take the time to read through the list of ākonga being recognised and if you see them, say to them "well done!".
Year 2 Focus Group Session - Thursday
Just a reminder to all Year 2 parents that your focus group session with Urs is on this coming Thursday (14 March).
The session runs from 5pm to 6pm in the library.
The aim of the session was included in Urs's recent email to you, inviting you along.
Dress Up Your Wheels for Movin' March
Friday 22 March is Dress up your Wheels day as part of Movin' March.

Disco - Parent Helpers Needed
The Term 1 disco will be held on Friday 5th of April.
For this event to run, we are in need of parent helpers on the night. On the night of the disco we need help to set up the hall, organise and sell our food and glow products, and to help us clear up at the end.
If you are able to help with on the night, please contact Jemima at jemima@amesbury.school.nz.
More general information about the discos will be available closer to the time.
Sports Events coming up
We have the Years 5-6 Ki-o-Rahi festival coming up later this month and the Wellington Region Inter-School Chess tournament in June.
Rupert has provided some preliminary details if you are interested in either of these events.

If you're looking for additional small fleeces for the cooler weather, we currently have a good supply of second hand size 4 fleeces ($15ea)

A key with a very cute small soft toy key ring, an inhaler, and a child's watch (known brand) have also been handed in.

Coming up is International Sports Week!
We will be playing heaps of games, making supporter flags with any and all teams, learning how to make medals out of crystals, and making delicious hostess rugby cupcakes.
