Senior Swimming Sports

Our Senior Swimming Sports event is taking place on Tuesday 3rd September at Tawa Pool.

On Monday all Year 4-6 ākonga (students) will complete a form to indicate which events they want to participate in. Before then, please take the opportunity to discuss with you tamariki whether they are best suited to enter into competitive, non competitive, or fun activities bearing in mind your child's confidence levels in the water.

Please read through Rupert's outline of the events for all of the details and so that you have an understanding of the arrangements for the day.

Structured Literacy Parent Session

On Monday 9th September commencing at 6pm in the school hall we have Kerri Satherley, from Massey University, facilitating a session for parents on structured literacy.

For the background of structured literacy and also what is planned to be covered in the session please she the Structured Literacy article that Urs has compiled.

Please complete this short RSVP form, so we have an idea of numbers for the session.

Onesie Day

Onesie Day is coming soon - Friday 13 September.

The purpose of Onesie Day is fundraising for Wellington Free Ambulance so please donate online at onesieday.co.nz.

Come to school dressed in your Onesie. There will various activities including a Onesie Parade.

Pizza Packing Volunteers

Rachel is looking for some additional helpers to pack pizzas for lunches on Thursdays. Please read here for the details and if you are able to help out please see Rachel (in the office) or email her (office@amesbury.school.nz).

Clothing backup - for All Students please

With winter here, so is the rain, puddles and mud.  Please pack a spare set of shorts/track pants/leggings, and underpants in the school bag (for all ages) with a plastic bag to put the wet clothes in, and let your child know that they are there for them to get changed into.

For some children it can be quite embarrassing or upsetting when they unexpectedly become wet or dirty (particularly if there isn't anything for them to change into) or they don't like what is available.  We only have a very small range of spares so are not able to cater for all "requests" and sizes (particularly size 8 plus).

Kelly Club

This coming week is all about celebrating the wonderful super dad in our life.

Join us while we make chocolate cake, special cards, make dad's Pictionary and play games! It will be a week to remember :)
