Kia ora e te whānau,
At Amesbury School, we believe that a strong partnership between whānau and School creates the best environment for our ākonga (students) to thrive. When parents and whānau get involved in school life, it provides students with extra support, enriches their learning experiences, and strengthens our school community. We warmly encourage you to share your time, skills, and passions to help make a positive impact on our tamariki.
Why get involved?
Support our ākonga: Extra support from parents and whānau helps students feel more confident and engaged in their learning.
Connect with the community: Volunteering is a great way to meet other families, build friendships, and strengthen our school network.
Share your talents: Whether you have a background in teaching, sports, gardening, administration, or simply a passion for helping, there’s a place for you!
Make a difference: Working with children is incredibly rewarding and a meaningful way to contribute to the future of our community.
Ways to get involved
There are many ways you can participate in school life, no matter how much or little time you can spare:
Reading Support: Help ākonga who would benefit from extra practice with their reading.
Library Assistance: Help with processing and sorting books to keep our library well-organized and inviting.
Office Assistance: Support with tasks like managing pizza lunch orders.
Garden to Table Programme: Assist with our hands-on initiative that teaches students about gardening and cooking.
Māori and Pacific Whānau Group: Join us in celebrating and supporting our Māori and Pacific communities within the school.
Scholastic Book Club: Help process book orders to ensure our students have access to great reading material.
School Trips & Sports Events: Support our tamariki by accompanying them on trips and helping out at sports days.
Sports Coaching: If you have experience in netball or basketball, consider becoming a coach and supporting our school teams.
Join the School Board: Contribute to important decisions that shape the future of our school.
Whatever your skills, background, or availability, we’d love to have you involved. For more details on how you can help, visit our Parent Involvement page on the school website.
Thank you for being part of our wonderful school community. Together, we can create amazing opportunities for our ākonga to succeed.
Ngā mihi nui,
