Day in Town

It's that time of year once again when our Year 6 students embark on a town expedition, embracing a day filled with enjoyment and independence. Our agenda this year includes a delightful cafe morning tea, some gift shopping along the vibrant Cuba St, and a picnic lunch at Waitangi Park.

For a seamless commute to Wellington City, we kindly request students to be at school by 8:45 am.

To make our Amesbury ākonga easily recognisable, we require them to wear their complete school uniform, including their hat and fleece, along with suitable footwear. Don't forget to bring a filled water bottle.

Day Highlights:

• 8:45 am: Meet in Māwhero
• 9:00 am: First group departs for their bus
• 10:15 am: Café Morning Tea
• 11:00 am: Gift Shopping
• 12:30 pm: Picnic Lunch
• 1:20 pm: First group catches the bus back to Amesbury

Key Points to Keep in Mind:

• Lunch will cost around $15 and they will purchase this from New World
• Students are welcome to bring additional snacks from home if desired.
• Amesbury School will cover the costs of Morning Tea and bus fares. However, students can opt to use their own Snapper card if they prefer.
• As the students express a keen interest in gift shopping, we recommend your child bring between $10 and $20 for this.
