What's on?

  • Connection Conferences - Tuesday 26 & Wednesday 27 May
  • Co-curricular Lessons Start - Wednesday 27 & Friday 29 May
  • Queen's Birthday - Monday 1 June - No school

Connection Conferences

Hopefully everyone has already signed up for the Connection Conferences on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

The purpose of this ‘connection conference’ is to allow parents to pass on important information about how their child/ren coped during lockdown, how they are feeling now, and how they have managed with their learning. It would also be a good opportunity for parents to ask questions about your children; you may have noticed certain things about your child’s learning and/or behaviour, and you may want to know more about it from the teacher’s perspective.

If you haven't yet signed up - this closes at 8am on Tuesday - or you need more information, please refer to Urs's email to all parents sent on 13 May.

Co-curricular Lessons start this week

Our co-curricular lessons are commencing for Term 2 on Wednesday & Friday this week.

After resigning all those that wished to continue this term, we still have vacancies if your child is interested taking any of our classes. We have additional teacher hours for those classes that were previously over prescribed. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer gymnastics this term.

If you want to see what co-curricular lessons are please visit our webpage. If you have any questions not covered, or you want to sign your child up, please contact John communications@amesbury.school.nz.

Information from the Ministry of Education

Now that we are at level 2 and back at school, the Ministry of Education has prepared some useful information for parents. Here is the link. Spend a little while looking at the information and pick out the things relevant to your situation.

Kelly Club

Don't forget that Kelly Club is back in full swing and has space for your child/ren in both their pre-school and after-school sessions.

Below is a typical Kelly Club programme:

Yum, Chocolate

Are you aged between 5-13 and do you have what it takes to design New Zealand’s next favourite chocolate bar? Then the Wellington Chocolate Company has just the competition for you!

A fantastic prize awaits the winner, but the 5 finalists all win chocolate. If you don't like chocolate, I'm sure that your favourite teacher or Acting Principal will happily take it off your hands.

This is not a school competition, so parents you will need to be happy and will need to sign up so that your kids can enter, which you can do here.

Good luck!

Lost Property

Well that didn't take very long, but we have our first item of lost property:

  • size 4 fleece with bracelet in the pocket

Additionally, before lockdown were you missing a size 2 or 6 fleece (unnamed), or do the fleeces in the photos at the bottom of this article look familiar?

If so, please email Rachel office@amesbury.school.nz and she will give it to students to take home.

Uniform

  • You can still buy uniform items during level 2 - uniforms purchased from the school Kindo shop will be given to students to put in their bag and take home for naming. (Rachel will email parents to confirm when this has been done)
  • Our winter beanie stock has arrived! We now have 2 sizes available to purchase online.
  • The sports tops have also arrived and are now available in all sizes 6-16
