Amesbury's Got Talent Finals
Make sure you are available to come along on Friday evening (2 July) to watch this year's final of Amesbury's Got Talent.
I've managed to watch some of the talent on show in the heats and I was impressed, and that included some that didn't make the final.
So put 5.30-6.30pm this Friday in your calendar and come along, watch and warmly support this year's finalists @ Amesbury.
What's been happening in Harakeke this year?
Sonali has provided a well written article about the teaching & learning that has occurred in Harakeke this year.
If you are a parent with a child in Harakeke, I highly recommend that you read this article which will provide you with a greater depth of understanding of the teaching that your child is receiving. If you want to have a discussion with your child of what they are doing in school this will provide provide you with a good range of starter questions. As part of this log into Hero so that you can see the uploaded work that your child has done.
Te Ao Māori (Māori world view)
Amaria has penned an an excellent article on Te Ao Māori (Māori world view).
This article discusses what our kaiako (teachers) cover in their professional development, what learning our tamariki (children) have, and what other aspects of Māori language and culture we, at Amesbury, practise.
Electives Term 2
Each term electives are run where students opt into one of their choice from a range offered.
Urs has spent some time going around this term's electives and has talked to a number of the kids as they are doing their work. Read this article to see both Urs' and the kids thoughts on their electives.
