The weather was kind to us and we had a fantastic turn out of whānau to support this event, both as spectators, and enthusiastic and highly skilled participants!
One aspect of the term’s learning has been students thinking about:
The students have been working in Buddy Whānau groups preparing for the Amesbury Games. Each Buddy Whānau created their own game or chose a game, adapting it to ensure it had maximum involvement, was as inclusive as possible, and that it is fair when both adults and children are playing. The Buddy Whānau groups also decided on team colours and names and practised a team chant ready for game day. As you can see by a snapshot of the photos taken, this was a great afternoon, showcasing the students' work and coming together as a learning community to have fun and enjoy our Amesbury Games.
A big thank you to all of those who were involved in the event in some way, a great way to celebrate our ākonga.
