Firstly, I would like to say thank you to those who have shared these achievements with us.
We are so happy to be able to acknowledge the things that tamariki are able to do outside of school and love sharing these with the community.
Congratulations goes to Rohan (Koru Hub) who in December received his first badge and certificate for Kung Fu. He worked the whole of 2021 for his badge and, due to Covid, he managed to finally receive it in December. We are so proud of him and he is already working his way to earning his second badge.
Ka pai tō mahi to Ellie and Alex.
Ellie (Harakeke Hub) has been honing her sewing skills for over a year now and is enjoying being very creative.
Alex (Pōhutukawa Hub) has been playing tennis for the boys’ Churton Park inter-club team. The team won all of their games this weekend - a great achievement.
Way to go Kingsley (Pōhutukawa Hub). Kingsley achieved distinction in grade 3 piano with a score of 97/100. Late last year he was also awarded MVP in his football team. To top off an all-around effort, Kingsley also achieved as a golf term winner. Ka pai Kingsley - great effort.
Incredible achievements by Jiya (Pōhutukawa Hub) over the last few months. For swimming he received a silver medal in 200m freestyle, a silver medal in 100m freestyle, and a bronze medal in 50m backstroke at the Wellington 12 & under junior championship. Back in October last year, Jiya also took part in two tennis tournaments, walking away as the winner in one and runner up in the other - amazing work Jiya!
A wonderful story to share about Grace's kind and thoughtful mahi (work): Grace, from Harakeke Hub, really enjoyed her recent session with St John's Ambulance at school, and this inspired her to hold a bake sale at her house over the weekend. Grace worked hard to bake a delicious banana cake to sell and raise money for St John's. She even bought a piece with her own money! We are impressed with Grace's achievements in raising money to support St John's.
