It was awesome to see children very excited and carefully choosing items for their “wishlist”. This year to celebrate our Book Fair, we had a book character parade. It was great to see children dressed up with their favourite book characters. Not only the tamariki, some of our kaiako also came dressed up.
During our playtime on Friday, we had a parade out in the courtyard outside the Library. The children enjoyed guessing each other’s characters while dancing along with their friends. There were also spot prizes which were welcomed with open arms.
We had some awesome feedback from our parents as well:
“Thank you for organising the Book Fair and Dress Up Day Parade. I have some very excited children at home this afternoon, telling me all about the outfits that everyone wore. I also have a few extra kids and all are equally engaged in the conversation about the books and characters.”
