Board of Trustees Update

Half-Year Reports: A number of staff presented a half-yearly report covering progress in the first two terms and initiatives for the second half of the year.

  • Demelza spoke about progress made moving maths goals onto ALF and the development of individual pathways in mathematics.
  • Angela updated the Board about progress made in ESOL, special needs, transition, the library and staff professional development.
  • Urs covered student achievement data for Term 2, which is showing improvement in each learning area from Term 1.

Health & Safety: the Board reviewed a Health and Safety Report for the recent ski trip.  The Board was pleased with the way an accident was handled by all involved and with the positive outcome for the student. Staff recommended that further rigor be added to the assessment of "skiing skills" for future trips.

Finances: At half way through the year, both expenditure and income are down on budget, and currently the financial situation looks positive. However, an ongoing prudent approach to expenditure will be sensible for the next half of the year as expenditure often increases in the second half of the year.
