Our Share & Celebrate events are a time to acknowledge and celebrate (students) who have been noticed doing something great. This can be for anything from an act of kindness, to great efforts in learning or taking care of the environment. If you have fabulous things your have been doing outside of school that you would like to share and celebrate, please email the details to your child's whānau teacher.

Our four Amesbury Awesomeness recipients for this term:

  • Surya - Koru Hub

  • Mei Mei - Koru Hub

  • Caelyn - Pōhutukawa Hub

  • Ike - Pōhutukawa Hub

There is a separate article celebrating our recipients and their amazing achievements. Ka mau te wehi, aweomse work!

Here are the other fabulous people who were celebrated this week:

  • Lucca L, Azariah & Basti: For being kaitiaki of the duck mama and her ducklings, reminding others to look after them by staying away from them.

  • Ryker: For being a fabulous contraction detective, and finding so many contractions in your literacy workshop. You were so focused on thinking about the different contractions you could find, and writing some of your own. Ka rawe!

  • Zachary and Luca C: Tino pai for the leadership you have shown in our in-class Kapa Haka sessions. Zachary, you always sing the waiata loudly and strongly and can explain the stories well. Luca, you selected a waiata for the class to sing and volunteered to lead it, which you did a fantastic job of.

  • Armand: It was lovely of you to give feedback to another student on her super handwriting. She was very pleased with your comment, and it made her feel proud of what she had done. Ka rawe, awesome work being a kind and supportive learner.

  • Aanya: On Monday it was an extremely windy day and as you were riding your bike home you were noticed picking up a wheelie bin or recycling bag that had been blown onto the road. Thank you for helping out our neighbours.

  • Oscar X: Oscar was supporting his buddy so well during Koru's inquiry art session. He helped his buddy execute their idea and they worked together to make a beautiful piece of art. Thank you for your patience and helpfulness, Oscar.

  • Jade: Jade had her football prize giving on Wednesday night and won a trophy for being a team player. Ka pai Jade this is awesome!

  • Jackson W: Jackson, we have been so impressed with your recent accomplishments and hard work in literacy. You have made great strides in your reading, ka pai!

  • Micke: Micke was the MVP for Amesbury Aces this year. The coach said Micke demonstrated fair play and was encouraging of her team members. As well as being the only Year 5 in the team, she was new to the school and the 6-a-side netball format played.
