It was all bandages, recovery positions, and emergency numbers, in the learning spaces as our tamariki familiarised themselves with what to do in the case of an emergency. Koru explored how to make safe decisions and identify potential risks at home and at school. Harakeke were busy demonstrating their abilities in the treatment of minor injuries whilst Pōhutukawa were exploring appropriate responses to a variety of situations requiring first aid.
Our tamariki showed great interest and enthusiasm which was equally matched in delivery by the programme facilitator on all three days. Josie gave some really positive feedback at the end of her visit to Amesbury. She said, “The students were all so receptive and polite, so it was a pleasure teaching them. I would be happy to come back any time.”
We hope that your child shared some of their learning from the workshop with you and, hopefully, they will carry this valuable knowledge with them going forward.
