Our year 3 and 4 overnight camp is happening soon - very exciting! It will be happening on Thursday 28th and Friday 29th November.
Here is the gear list for our overnight camp. Please read through it carefully and particularly note the items in bold, as they are key things to have.
Key details
All students to come to school on Thursday 28th at the normal time, with their school bag and a separate overnight bag. Overnight bags will be stored in the school hall, and ākonga can go to the hub as usual with their school bag.
School uniform does not need to be worn on Thursday or Friday.
Ākonga will spend the morning at school as usual. We will have an early lunch at school, and buses will depart for camp at 1pm.
We will drop our overnight bags at camp, and travel on to Te Rauparaha Arena for swimming and play time. Please note, swimming gear and lunchbox must be packed in your child's school bag, not their overnight bag.
After swimming and play time, the group will walk to camp (about 10 minute walk), and will have some free time, dinner and an evening programme at camp.
On Friday we will pack and clean up, and walk down to Awesome Bounce for time on trampolines and climbing walls, and then travel back to school on buses. Morning tea and lunch will be provided at school.
School will end at 3pm on Friday, as usual.
Adults attending camp:
School staff - Amaria, Urs, Lauren, Kate, and Sarah
Parents on camp: Our three Year 3 parents are Anna, Tim, and Sergio. Our three Year 4 parents are Sinead, Marisa, and Jarrad.
Please note that there is some walking involved in the camp, so we have asked ākonga to wear sneakers or sensible shoes that fasten well. Crocs or jandals are welcome to be brought as an extra item for wearing inside at camp, but they are not to be worn as their main walking/travelling shoes.
No devices are to be brought on camp. This includes phones and smart watches.
The camp promises to be lots of fun. If you have any questions or concerns about camp, please contact your child's whānau teacher.
