Our Share & Celebrate events began this year as a time for to acknowledge and celebrate ākonga who they have noticed doing something great. This can be for anything from an act of kindness, to great efforts in learning or taking care of the environment. Parents can also let kaiako know of anything fab that their child has done outside of school, and this can also be shared.
Firstly, a huge well done to our four Amesbury Awesomeness recipients from term 1. There will be a separate article about them at the start of term 2, detialing their achievements. In the meantime, here is a summary

Below are the ākonga who were celebrated with a shout out this week.
Zoe, Lina, Nia, Jade, Lucca, Alex, Henry, Marcus, Paige, Shenaya, JD, Yiqi, Victoria, Divan, Josh H, Ire, Aanya, Caelan, Angela: You are all so enthusiastic and motivated on road patrol every morning and afternoon, especially on windy and cold days. You are all doing amazing work helping other children cross the road safely in term one. Thank you for showing up on time and practising great leadership skills.
Hunter S: You have helped lots of teachers this week by picking up bikes left outside the bike shed, making sure they are nicely packed away and even helped lock the bike shed up. Amazing, Hunter!
Aashrith: You have been a super helper when it comes to the bike shed making sure it is all put away properly. Thanks for your work!
Zachary: You noticed that the hub was messy after lunch, so you went and tidied it all up - picking up 57 different things. Ka rawe!
Navya: You have been an amazing helper in Kākāriki. You are always willing to volunteer to help with anything, like getting the spare hat bag, being a tidy teddy and helping others around the hub.
Nixon: For helping others complete their work. It was great to see your patience and consideration when helping others with their publishing.
Xavier and Ethan L: You really made an effort to welcome our new student and make him feel included. You checked in on him throughout his first couple of days and played with him. Thank you for being so kind.
Zara (Y6) & Shenaya: Well done for being the flag bearers for the woman's cricket match between the White Ferns and England. What a fabulous opportunity for you both. You were very brave, walking out in front of such a large audience.
Taksheel: Super work being awarded best bowler in your grade award from your cricket club. When you were given your award, your coach said: "I'm not sure kids are meant to bowl this fast with such accuracy! A true talent and such a nice player to have in the team - always polite, and always quick to make sure any players that land on the wrong end of delivery are OK." Fabulous sporting behaviour, Taksheel.
Jorgito: You helped to pack away the bike sheds and you made sure it was all locked up. Awesome work!
Ka rawe, fabulous mahi from all of our amazing ākonga. A huge well done for your helping behaviour, bravery, friendship, kindness and your amazing leadership. We love the way you are making your own important and valuable contributions, and you are also being a fabulous role model for other ākonga.
We love celebrating these achievements, and we can't wait to see all of the amazing efforts and contributions being celebrated next term.
