Firstly, we have sadly received a resignation from Gemma, our fabulous ELL (English Language Learner) teacher. Gemma, Shane and their twin boys have recently moved to the Kāpiti Coast, and Gemma is looking for part time work closer to home. She has been a very valued member of our wonderful team for the six years she has been with us, and it has been a privilege to watch Gemma grow and develop into a fantastic teacher and leader. We wish Gemma and her whānau all the very best with the next step in their journey.
Secondly, we are very pleased to announce that Amaria has been granted a 32 week study award for 2023 to complete a Level 5 te reo Māori Diploma through Te Wānanga o Raukawa. This means Amaria will begin and end the year with us at school next year, but will spend most of the year released from school to complete her te reo Māori study. We are very pleased that Amaria is pursuing this study, and the school and the Board of Trustees are very supportive of it. We wish her all the very best with this exciting challenge.
We are now beginning to plan for the 2023 school year, and later next term we will confirm what the teams will look like for next year.
Ngā mihi,
Urs Cunningham
