Winter is upon us - stay warm ....
What's on this week?
As a part of our current inquiry, a trip to Te Papa next month is planned for all ākonga.
Jemima has provided all of the relevant information here.
On the day of the trip all ākonga will need a packed lunch. If your tamariki have their trip on a Thursday and you have an order in for pizza please do not forget to cancel it at any time prior to the cut off time on the day. You can do this via Kindo > My Orders > Transactions (find the date) > Cancel.
Any orders not cancelled, will still be filled as we are unable to transfer them to a subsequent week. In this case ākonga will need to collect them from the office once they return from the trip or, alternatively, the following day.
Hockey Day Out For Y5 & 6 - register by 7 June
The Northern Zone Hockey Tournament is being held on Tuesday 20 June. This is a social event aimed particularly at inexperienced players.
If your Year 5 & 6 tamariki are interested please register by 4pm on Wednesday 7th of June using this short form.
For more details of the even t please read Eilis's notice.
For further details please read through Kirat's AGT info.
Shoe Boxes needed
If you have any spare shoe boxes please drop them off to Jemima in Harakeke.
Changes of Clothes
Can all ākonga please have spare shorts/track pants/leggings, and underpants in their school bag and let them know that they are there for them to get changed into if they have an accident or get wet/muddy at school.
If they don't have a change of clothes, we are currently likely to contact you to make arrangements for some to be brought to school as we do not have many spares that we can lend out.
Term 2 Disco - Friday 16th June - Helpers still needed
Our Term 2 Disco is on Friday 16 June and Gar Kee has provided the "all you need to know" info here.
Apart from letting everyone know when it's on and what will be there, Gar Kee is also after as many helpers as possible so that the event runs smoothly and, more importantly, the tamariki have a wonderful time. So if you can help, please contact Gar Kee ([email protected]) and let her know. She will be extremely grateful.
This year's ICAS exams are coming up next term, however, registrations are happening this month if you are interested in entering your tamariki.
If you don't know what ICAS exams are and who they are for please read Jenny's article.
Dates to note:
The Amesbury Swimming Sports will be held in Week 1 of Term 3.
Check out the inital notice with preliminary dates for the event.
Netsafe Parent Information Session - Now on 15 August
The Netsafe Parent Information has now been rescheduled to 5-6pm on Tuesday 15 August in the school hall. Sorry for the inconvenience caused by the date alteration.
The session will focus on supporting adults to keep our tamariki safe online.
If you are planning to attend please complete the rsvp form. If you already completed the form for the earlier planned session, we would ask that you resubmit the for.
For all the details - including the areas that the session will cover - please read through Urs's article. Please note that this article has been updated since it was originally published.
