Measles

While we do not currently have any measles cases in Wellington it is still worthwhile being informed about measles and how to prevent getting it. Measles is a very serious illness and it spreads fast so it is important that you read this Measles Information.

Measles is a notifiable disease, so please advise the school office immediately of a confirmed case. In any event of this nature we want to keep everyone safe, so now is also a good time to check that your immunisation information with school is up to date if this hasn't previously been provided.

Te Papa Trip - Parent Helpers Needed

As a part of our current inquiry, a trip to Te Papa next month is planned for all ākonga.

Jemima has provided all of the relevant information here.

As with all of out trips away from school - to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all of our tamariki - we still need more parent volunteers to also come along and help out. Please check the date that your tamariki will be attending and, if you are available to help, please contact the designated Hub teacher.

Term 2 Disco - Friday 16th June

Our Term 2 Disco is on Friday 16 June and Gar Kee has provided the "all you need to know" info here.

Apart from letting everyone know when it's on and what will be there, Gar Kee is also after as many helpers as possible so that the event runs smoothly and, more importantly, the tamariki have a wonderful time. So if you can help, please contact Gar Kee (garkee@amesbury.school.nz) and let her know. She will be extremely grateful.

Community Notices

Churton Park Community Newsletter

The latest Churton Park Community Newsletter is out and here's the link if you haven't already received a copy.

New Under 13 Youth Training Orchestra

This orchestra for young musicians (under 15 years) will be fun and you will learn the skills of playing together without having to audition.

The players should have a knowledge of some of the notes on their instruments already as this will be about coaching in a group to play and won’t be focussing on teaching individuals. Of course we will be helping and supporting all the young players with the best way to play but the players will need to have the basics on their instruments and be able to read music in at least a rudimentary way.

If you are interested, please go to their website for more information and to enrol.

Click Happy Workshop Series

If you are interested in photography and are interested in learning more, you are invited to enrol in the free workshop run by photography grand masters. The sessions are on Wednesdays from 6-8pm. The program builds visual storytelling skills and gives young photographers a chance to connect with the brightest lights in the field.

For more information and to sign up please go to their website.
