Message from John Bunting

Our editorial this week is a slight change from Urs providing us with her thoughts, to a message from John Bunting the Presiding Member of the School Board.

Please take a few minutes to read though it. You will find it at the top of this week's Amesbury Digest.

31 January 2023

This is the first day of school for 2023.

We look forward (already) to those returning next year and wish all those who are leaving us all the best in their future schooling. We have loved having you as part of the Amesbury whānau and you will always be welcome to come and visit.

The photo at the top and the two at the bottom of these notices were taken during the Year 6 leavers dinner and celebration held this week.

We have also said a very sad farewell to some of our teachers. Thank you for the impact you have had on the lives of our tamariki and the wider whānau.

Pōhutukawa Camp Week Summary

In her last article before leaving Amesbury, Kalesha has provided us with a summary of what happened during Camp Week for Pōhutukawa Hub.

Sports Round Up 2022

Eilís has put together a round up of school sports in 2022, so for a quick summary please head along and read the article.

Amesbury Games

A huge thanks you to Eilis for coordinating the first annual Amesbury Games. It was a wonderful opportunity for our tamariki to try some age appropriate sports that they hadn't participated in before.

Our tamariki thoroughly enjoyed new challenges and had a great time in the summer sunshine. Thanks to our team of parent volunteers who helped with the running of a very successful, enjoyable day.

As an added bonus there was a total of $970 raised from the Amesbury Games! A fantastic effort from all involved.
