What's on this Week?

Northern Wellington Citizenship Award

Congratulations to Musa, our very deserving recipient of the Northern Wellington Citizenship Award for 2022. Please read all about why Musa was the choice for this year by following this link.

Wellington Breeze 'Pack the Bus' Donation Drive

The Wellington Breeze 'Pack the Bus' pick up is scheduled for 10.45am on Monday (28 November).

While the amount donated, particularly in the last week, has been phenomonel, there is one final opportunity to add to the collection on Monday morning, as you drop off the tamariki at school. The collection point in the office foyer. I'm sure that even though Belinda will be worked even harder with more goodies being dropped off, I know that she will happily do so.

What to drop off? There is a comprehensive list here of those things needed.

Every little thing you add is something big in the hands of those that need extra support.

PSW Inter Zone Athletics

A BIG Amesbury whānau best wishes to Jade T, Mira R, Paige S, Sofia C, Jiya L, Kingsley L & Abigail G who are representing the school at the PSW Inter Zone Athletics at Newtown Park on Tuesday (29 November).

Nits and Head Lice Checks

Further to the notification the other day, we have now had a 2nd case reported to us in Harakeke. Please carefully go though the process described in this link to check for your own peace of mind or deal with it if you find any of your tamariki with nits.

Library Books

All of the library books and school readers should have already been returned by now so that the stock take can take place. However, if you sneak in quietly, on Monday morning, and drop the remaining few that have come to light over the weekend, I'm sure Kirat will be most greatful.

Last Week for School Lunches

Please note that this week (Wed 30th Nov, Thur 1st and Fri 2nd Dec) is the last week for Pizza or Lunchonline (Nada/Sushi) orders for 2022.

The following week we are having our school camps and we finish school for the year on Wednesday the week after that (14 December).

Tough Guy & Gal Junior Challenge

If you are looking for something adventurous & adrenaline-thrilled then the Tough Guy & Gal Junior Challenge is for you

The event returns to Camp Wainui next year and Elis wishes to get a sense of how many students would be interested in taking part.

With registrations opening on the first day of Term 2023, we would like to have an idea of numbers in advance so that we don't miss out. If your child would love to run through water trails, crawl under obstacles, clamber through tunnels, wade through swamp crossings and pull themselves up hill climbs please register them by completing this expression of interest form.

Your child must therefore be okay with being cold and wet as they make their way through the course. There are hot showers and changing facilities available at the end of the course for everyone to use.

This 'Extreme Off Road Running Event' is open to Y3-6. School years 3 & 4 will complete the Ankle Biters 1.5km course option while the Y5 & 6 complete the Little Nippers 3km course option.

It is hoped that Amesbury will enter to compete on Thursday 25th May 2023 with an entry fee of around $30 per child. Please register your interest now and Eilís will be in touch with further information.

Amesbury Games & Fundraising - This Thursday (1 December)

The inaugural Amesbury Games will be held this Thursday (1 December).

It is a great opportunity for all of our tamariki to try out new sports and physical activities that they have not participated in.

Additionally, you have the opportunity to sponsor your tamariki as they participate in this event with the funds raised going to the Kiwi Hoops Programme that our ākonga will be participating in in Term 1 next year. See here for details.

For more information please read through the latest Amesbury Games article and the new Fundraising component.

Camp Week (5-9 December)

Below is the latest  and final information for each each of the Hub's camp week which takes place next week (5-9 December). The information from Harakeke has been updated so please pay special attention to that if your tamariki are in that Hub. For everyone else please make sure that you have noted all of the info - especially what to bring etc.
