Day in Town
It is that time of the year again where our Year 6 ākonga head to town for a day of fun and independence. This year we will be having a café morning tea, doing some Christmas shopping along Cuba St before jumping on the Cable Car and having a picnic lunch at the Botanic Gardens.
We will be catching public transport to and from town so we ask that students are at school by 8:45am.
To help us spot our Amesbury children more easily, we ask that students wear their school uniform, including their hat and fleece, and appropriate shoes. They will also need to bring a water bottle.
Brief overview of the day:
8:45am Meet in the library
9:00am First group leaves for the bus
10.15am Café Morning Tea
11:00am Christmas Shopping
12:30pm Cable Car
12:40pm Picnic Lunch
1:40pm First group catches the bus back to Amesbury
A few of things to note:
*Lunch will cost around $15 and they will purchase this from either New World Metro or Countdown
*Students may bring extra snacks from home if they wish.
*Morning Tea, bus costs, and Cable Car will be paid for by Amesbury School.
*Students are very keen to do a bit of Christmas shopping while they are in town. We recommend having your child bring between $10 and $20 for this.
