Kapa Haka Festival - More Helpers Still Required Please
As previously advised Amesbury, led by Amaria, is organising the St Brigid's Kapa Haka Festival this year.
This is a major undertaking with over 1000 people expected to be in attendance. No surprise then that we need many volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the event. We sincerely thank those that have already put their name forward but we still need many more, particularly in the afternoon.
The festival is less than 3 weeks away and it would be greatly appreciated if we could take a little stress off Amaria and her team by ensuring that she has sufficient help.

The St Brigid's Annual Kapa Haka Festival is being organised this year by Amesbury and will be held at Onslow College given the large numbers that will be participating.
Apart from general assistance with setting up etc., we are using it as an opportunity to raise as much money as we can to commission someone to design and make Pou for the new building at Amesbury School which is to everyone's benefit.
FREE lunchtime ‘have a go’ tennis session - Last chance to sign up
If you child is interested in having a go at tennis, then there is a free lunchtime session at Amesbury on Tuesday 6 September.
To take part please complete this form by this weekend - Sunday (4 September).
Onesie Day - Friday 9 September
We are holding 'Onesie Day' on Friday (9 September).
Come and join us in supporting the incredible mahi (work) the Wellington Free Ambulance does for our community by wearing a onesie and bringing a gold coin donation to kura (school).
The ākonga (students) are most welcome to join us during our lunchtime activities the Pōhutukawa fundraising team has planned for. See you then.
Term 3 Disco
The Disco is planned for Friday 16 September.
This is an event that is always eagerly anticipated, so book tickets for your tamariki, pre purchase pizza, and volunteer to help if you are able.

Online Conferences for Term 3
Jenny sent you all a HERO notification a few days ago advising you of the dates for the Term 3 conferences. This is where students can discuss their learning with their parents and their whānau teacher.
The conferences will be held online and parents/caregivers are asked to book a time. All of the information, including links, are in the HERO notification that you have already received.
If you have any questions about the set up of the conference please contact your child's whānau teacher.
Kia Manawaroa - Ministry of Education's newsletter for whānau Māori
The Ministry of Education has a regular pānui (newsletter) that comes out every fortnight for whānau Māori called Kia Manawaroa.

Road Patrol for 2023
The year 5 students will be having their Road Patrol Training soon in preparation for next year.
Before students can receive the training, we need parents to sign a permission slip. Students should already have been given these to take home. Can parents please have tamariki bring them back to Onaitta as soon as possible. Much appreciated.
Enrolling at Rāroa for 2023
Rāroa Normal Intermediate appreciates those who have enrolled for 2023. In order for Rāroa to effectively place your child for 2023 this is a friendly reminder for those who haven’t enrolled yet. They would appreciate enrolment completed as soon as possible.
