Swimming Sports 2022

Our Swimming Sports will be held early next term but entry forms are needed in the meantime.

Our Senior and Junior students will make the short trip to the Keith Spry Pool in Johnsonville for this year's swimming sports in Term 3.

  • Senior Swimming Y4-6 Thursday 4th August, (Week 2) 10:30am-12:30pm.

  • Junior Swimming Y0-3 Thursday 18th August, (Week 4) 10:30am-12:30pm.

For anyone interested in doing the races there are a number of different options for the races including lengths and styles.

The options are:

  • Freestyle

  • Backstroke

  • Breaststroke

  • Butterfly.

Fun water activities are the other option if you feel your child is not yet ready to compete in races.

Our Year 4-6 students will complete their entry forms for this event at school but we encourage you to discuss the options with your tamariki and encourage them to participate in the races where possible. As swimming has been part of our PE programme this term, we ask all students to enter at least two events in their swimming sports. The results from our Senior Swimming will determine who advances to the Northern Zone Swimming event at the Kilbirnie Aquatic Centre on Friday 26th of August.

The parents of our Year 1-3 students are asked to complete the forms on behalf of their tamariki and we do expect that the majority of these students will opt into the fun water activities in the teaching pool.

Everyone will need to bring togs, a towel, a swimming cap and goggles on the day.

Warm regards,

Eilís
