A reminder that school is closed on Monday (27 June) for a Teacher Only Day.

There will be no Kelly Club Holiday Programme for the day as there was insufficient interest.

Amesbury's Got Talent Finals

The heats have been held. The finalists have been decided. So we all now look forward to the 12 final acts to show us which is just a little better than the rest and be crowned the Amesbury's Got Talent winner for 2022.

The finals will commence at 2pm on Friday 1 July before a live studio audience - the ākonga.

Junior Invitational Cross Country - New Date

This term we sadly needed to postpone the junior invitational cross country race twice, due to poor weather.

We now have a new date in Term 3 for the race: Thursday 25th August, 9:30 - 11am. The event will be held at Amesbury School.

Early in Term 3 Eilis will confirm which Amesbury students will be competing.

Amesbury Student Achievements Outside of School - closing this week

One last request to receive details of your child’s achievements outside of school so that we can share them with the wider Amesbury whānau and celebrate them together.

We know that a number of students gain achievements outside of school in various activities like sport, music, and for clubs that they are members of, etc.

If your child/ren have something that they would like to share (along with some photos, if you like), please email the information to natalie@amesbury.school.nz.

Clothing backup - for all Students

Just a reminder - if you hadn't noticed - that with winter here we have plenty rain, puddles and mud.

Please pack a spare set of shorts/track pants/leggings, and underpants in your child's school bag (for all ages) with a plastic bag to put the wet clothes in, and let your child know that they are there for them to get changed into.

For some children it can be quite embarrassing or upsetting when they unexpectedly become wet or dirty (particularly if there isn't anything for them to change into) or they don't like what is available. We have limited space to hold a selection of spares so are not always able to cater for all 'requests' and sizes (particularly size 8 plus).

Pizza orders

If your child is going to be away and/or you want to cancel a pizza order, you can do this on your Kindo account in the My Orders section up until 9am on the day of the order. Orders can also still be submitted up until 9am.

Students collected during school time

We appreciate that it's not always possible to have appointments or plans outside of school hours, but if it's at all workable it reduces your child's time away from learning.

If you do have a commitment during school time, to help make it faster and easier to locate them and be ready to go on time, please let the office know in advance and, if possible, pick them up at the beginning or end of a break/session time. They can return any time.

Here's a reminder of our timetable:

First morning session: 9:00-11:00am
Morning Break: 11:00-11:30am
Second morning session: 11:30am-12:50pm
Lunch break: 12:50-1:40pm
Afternoon Session: 1:40-3:00pm

Covid absence

If a student is going to be away because they or a person in their household has tested positive for Covid, please also advise the Day 0 so we can confirm the students timeline for their return to school (this is either the day the symptoms started or the day of the positive test result (if there are/were no symptoms).

Lost and Found

We are looking for the owner of the size 2 fleece in the photo below - please contact Rachel @ the office.
