Mānawatia a Matariki

By: Amaria Picard | Posted Friday June 24, 2022

We ran a wide range of Matariki themed activities throughout the afternoon, with older and younger students mixing together to explore different ways of celebrating and learning about Matariki.

There were activities from making stars, manu tukutuku (kites used to signal Matariki), lanterns and Matariki inspired jars. We finished the week with a disco that was attended by many ākonga. Ngā mihi (thanks) to all the parents who helped out at the disco and a special thanks to Kalesha, Belinda and Jack who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the disco happen.

We hope that many of you also found some different ways to be involved with celebrating or learning more about Matariki this year.

We hope you enjoy some of the photos from this week.
