Help us to plan some Churton Park community events

I recently met with Matt Stanley, Principal of Churton Park School, and Brian Sheppard, President of the Churton Park Community Association. We are all keen to run some activities and events within our suburb a little later in the year, which will help us to re-connect, get together and have fun with our wider community.

We are looking to organise a community clean up week, and both schools will be central in supporting this and getting involved. We are also planning on holding a community gathering later in the year, possibly based at the Churton Park Reserve. However, there are probably lots of other activities that our community would like to do together, and we'd like to hear your ideas.

If any parents or whānau members are interested in being involved and helping to plan or be involved in any activities, come along and be part of this! Are there things you think your whānau or local friends would like to do as a community? Are you a coach of one of our school teams, and is your team interested in maybe having a fun match against any Churton Park School teams? Are there activities our tamariki can come together to do? We are looking for any ways, big or small, where we can get together. Our thinking is that we could run a series of smaller events, with different ways for local tamariki and whānau to come together, and these could lead up to a bigger whole community gathering towards the end of the year.

Churton Park School will connect with their community to explore any ideas they have, and Amesbury School will do the same. The Churton Park Community Association will do a similar thing, and we will then pool all of our ideas, resources, and connections together. If you are keen to be involved in some way, big or small, please fill out this quick form. We'll organise a meeting very soon with any Amesbury whānau to share ideas, and then go from there.

Kia ora rawa atu, many thanks,

Urs Cunningham
