Amesbury Notices - 29 November 2021

By: John Murrihy | Posted Sunday November 28, 2021

What's on this week?

Concrete Pour - Car Park Closed - Monday

The car park is closed all day on Monday this week (29 November).

There is a really large concrete pour (pouring the base slab for the new build) and there will be about 30 concrete trucks coming at 15 min intervals right through the day.

Can families, where possible, please walk to school rather than drive to leave the area as free of vehicles as possible. To complicate matters further, Year 5 and 6 ākonga will be bringing luggage for camp, so we need to leave the drop off area on Amesbury Drive free for them.

Thanks so much for your understanding and cooperation with this situation.

Activities Week is here

Latest details for:

Years 0-2 - updated on 23 November

Years 3-4

Years 5-6 - updated 27 November and includes final costings

Please read the information carefully as a lot has changed over the last few weeks.

Beach Education Day - Years 3-4

Beach Education for Years 3-4 will take place on Wednesday - 1 December. Please check the details for the day including what the kids need to bring.

Just a reminder to please check your Kindo account to see if you have any outstanding Beach Education invoices waiting to be paid.

What else is on for the rest of the term?

After camp week, this week, there are still a number of activities taking place before school finishes on Tuesday 14 December. So that nothing gets lost in the 'busyness' they are set out here:

  • Mon 6 Dec-Fri 10 Dec Transition week

  • Monday 6 December Reports go live on Hero

  • Wednesday 8 December BoT meeting

  • Thursday 9 December Year 6 day in town

  • Monday 13 December Year 6 graduation dinner

  • Tuesday 14 December Last day of school - school closes at 1pm

Not that you need reminding but, as we are still in alert level 2, activities happen a little differently so please read through this updated notice on Term 4 Events in Alert Level 2, to see how these will be happening.

Library Books & Readers

If you have any school library books or readers at home (or elsewhere) can you please dig them out and return them to the library.

The library is now closed for issuing as we need to start our stocktaking and ensure that books are ready for 2022.

Boxes for Koru Drive in Movie

On Friday (3 December) we have drive in movie day for the Koru kids.

For this we need your help.

Can you please send some boxes along to school by Thursday (2 December). These boxes need to be big enough for your child/children to sit in. Thank you in advance.

Lost Property

Please look at the photos at the bottom of these notices and claim any of the items that belong to your child. Anything not claimed will be donated to charity.

'Pack the Bus' - Collection this Wednesday

'Pack the Bus' is an initiative that supports Wellington City Mission to help families to access food and toys for their tamariki in order to make this Christmas a happy one for all.

This Wednesday (1 December) the bus will arrive to pick up all the generous donations for distribution prior to Christmas.

The office is full of all your generous donations of food and toys. However, there can never be too much for those who need a little extra, so you still have a few days left to drop off some goodies that will be thoroughly appreciated.

If you need some ideas of what to donate, please see the 'Pack the Bus' article.

Scholastic Book Fair 2021

The annual Scholastic Book Fair ends on Tuesday (30 November).

Due to Alert Level 2 protocols parents are unable to come onsite to the book fair, but the kids have already viewed the books with their hubs and made up a wish list that they should have brought home for parents to see and complete the necessary details.

Please follow this link for all the relevant information.
