Beach Education for Years 0-2

By: Eilis Cassidy | Posted Friday November 12, 2021

Our students are getting excited about the beach trip next week. Beach Education is a full-day interactive course delivered in a controlled and safe manner. All of the Surf Life NZ instructors are fully qualified Surf Lifeguards who have also completed a course on safeguarding children. The day will be broken into three sections; theory (completed in the club house), beach activities and water activities.

What to pack for Beach Ed?

The beach is an ever changing environment so you will need to pack for all seasons:

  • Towel, togs, wetsuit (if you have one), warm clothes & sun hat

  • Lunch, drink & sun screen (factor 30+)

We ask that your child/children arrive at school no later than 8:50am on the morning of their trip as the bus will be leaving promptly at 9am. The students will return to school by 3pm. They are welcome to wear mufti on the day of the trip.

Surf Life NZ asks our students to complete a short survey before their visit. We ask you, as parents/caregivers, to assist with accessing the form. It will take less than 5 minutes to complete. Please follow this link and answer the multiple choice questions.

Please check this link to see which day your child/ren will be attending.

If you have any further questions please contact Jemima or Esther in Koru Hub.
