These summits are also held in Auckland and Christchurch, so we were delighted that for its first time in Wellington, the event sold out! Teachers from across Wellington and around NZ, registered for the event, to educate themselves on Google Apps for Education (GAFE) and how to utilise these to promote student learning.
The presenters (from the USA, Australia and NZ) were Google for Education Certified Innovators, Google for Education Certified Trainers, Google Employees, or teachers with local success stories.
Over the course of the Summit there were 3 keynote presentations, the choice of over 50 sessions held in 8 breakout spaces to attend, and a Demo Slam at the end of day 1, where 10 presenters shared 3 minutes of their most geeky use or tip and trick of a Google App.
As you can see from the photos, our school and hub space worked well with the format of the event, and due to its success we're looking at hosting again next year.
