What's on?

Parent Information Session - this Tuesday 9 March

The Parent Information Session previously postponed due to the covid level increase has now been rescheduled for 4-5.15pm on Tuesday 9 March.

Chromebook Home Agreement

For Harakeke & Pōhutukawa Caregivers only

Please, if you haven't already done so, can you complete the Chromebook Home Agreement so that we are prepared in advance should the school need to move to distance learning. Thank you.

Completing it now - in advance of any sudden move to distance learning - will help us to prevent needing to ask parents to come back into school to collect devices. Only the children who we have consent for will be able to take their devices home with them. For other students, we will need to go through the consent and pick up process after the move in alert levels, which can take time and be tricky at a stressful time.

Movin' March

Movin' March began last Monday and continues until the end of the month.

All students are encouraged to get involved, both for health and the opportunity to win prizes. Please read the article and get movin'.

Students with symptoms of illness

We are still having cases of students being away or presenting with Norovirus/Gastroenteritis symptoms (stomach cramps, vomiting and/or diarrhoea). In line with Ministry of Health and Regional Public Health requirements, to minimise spread, we ask that students stay away from school until they have been completely clear of all symptoms for a minimum of 48 hours (this includes temperature, tummy pain, nausea).

We are continuing to do extra sanitising throughout school, as part of our Covid-19 Level 2 protocol, but also ask that you help us encourage students to regularly and thoroughly wash and dry their hands.

Parents will be contacted and asked to collect students if they present with symptoms.

Reporting an absence

It is very important that we can verify the safe whereabouts of all our students.

Parents/Caregivers are required to notify the school office by 9:00am if children are going to be late or absent from school (this can even be the night before if you know then).

You can notify us, with a reason for absence, by:

  • Hero App (preferred) - please provide information if selecting 'absent but not sick' so we can record attendance accurately
  • Website absence form - please provide information if selecting 'other' so we can record attendance accurately
  • Email: office@amesbury.school.nz
  • Text: 021 865 528
  • Call/Leave a message: 04 477 3423

Hindi Lessons

A reminder that if you are interested in Hindi lessons, these will be held after school during Term 2.

Please register your interest by completing this short Google form. Please respond by Sunday 14th March.

Lost and Found

Please help keep our lost property to a minimum by labelling uniform items, water bottles and lunch containers. All named items are returned to the student/hub.

Rachel is keen to return the following items to their owners - are you missing:

  • a sleeping bag (from last year's camp)
  • Kathmandu jacket
  • Puma or Canterbury hoodie
  • Chevrolet top
  • Sz8 fleece or Sz4 uniform polo top?
