Staffing changes for Term 4

By: Urs Cunningham | Posted Wednesday September 9, 2020

Kia ora koutou,

We have several changes in staffing coming up in term 4.

Matt Hutchinson, who teaches in Koru Hub, will be leaving Amesbury School at the end of term 3; he is looking to spend more time on his ongoing study. Matt has been a valued teacher in the hub this year, and has shared his wealth of teaching experience and knowledge with his team. We wish him all the very best with his study and his future endeavours.

This means that in Koru Hub we will have two new staff members starting at the beginning of term 4. One teacher will be replacing Matt, and one teacher will be due to the continued roll growth that the hub is experiencing. Our two fabulous new teachers will be joining us in term 4 this year, and both will be continuing with us next year.

* Elena Mas Taylor has been teaching in an international school in Myanmar for four years. She is both Kiwi and Spanish, and spent time growing up in both countries.

*Angela Herman-Childs is a Canadian teacher who has been teaching in an international school in Poland for the past ten years.

Both teachers have experience teaching in the junior years, and are very excited about joining our Amesbury team.

We also have a third teacher joining our school-wide team for term 4: Mandy Liu. Mandy is currently working as a release and relief teacher in a variety of Wellington schools. She will be a full time release teacher across the school for term 4 this year, assisting teams in providing the necessary release for teachers at a busy time of year.

We are looking forward to the three new additions to our teaching team, and we wish Matt and his family all the very best.

Ngā mihi nui,

The Amesbury team
