New Build Consultation

Kia ora koutou,

I hope everyone is managing well during our current rāhui or isolation period. Thanks to everyone who is staying home with their family to help curb the spread of Covid-19, and a huge thanks to all essential workers who are still going to work to keep us all safe and healthy; we really appreciate all that you are doing.

As most of you will know, we will be having a new hub built adjacent to Harakeke Hub, that will accommodate approximately 200 - 220 students. Before the rāhui began, we were planning to hold several community consultation sessions about the new build design. We held community consultation with staff, students and parents in 2018, which helped us to form our design brief; this brief has been used by our architects, McKenzie Higham, to create the building design so far.

We are now looking for some feedback from our community about the design, including input on colours of carpet and flooring. Lesley has created a design presentation, which will talk you through the main design of the building, and will focus on some key features on both floors. She has also created two polls, where you can indicate your preference over vinyl design and carpet colour.

To access this presentation and give your feedback, please log into Loomio using this link. If you already have a Loomio account, or you have a Gmail account, you can use one of these to log in. If you do not have either, you can create a Loomio account in order to access the presentation. It is free and straightforward to create an account.

The presentation is hosted in the main thread on this link. If you click on 'replies' you will see Lesley's explanation and presentation at the top.

Once you have listened to the presentation and looked through the designs, feel free to give any feedback via the thread. Also, don't forget to take the carpet and vinyl flooring polls to let us know the colours you prefer.

If you have any trouble accessing Loomio, the presentation or the polls, please contact me (urs@amesbury.school.nz) and I will assist you.

We are really excited about the designs, and we are pleased to be sharing them with you. Enjoy!

Warm regards,

Urs Cunningham
