What's happening at Amesbury this week ....

What's on?

  • Pedal Ready - Monday 24 - Friday 28 February
  • Koru He Tohu Trip - Tuesday 25 February
  • PSW Northern Zone Cricket - Tuesday 25 February
  • Board of Trustees Meeting - Wednesday 26 February 5.30-7.30pm

School App - are you in the right group?

As you will all know we have had a major change in our hub groups and hub names this year. One of the significant results is that Pōhutukawa has been added and Te Rito no longer exists.

This is a great opportunity to review which groups that you belong to within the app so that you will receive the notifications that are relevant to you.

For example, over the next few weeks we will be sending out alerts for the He Tohu Trips. If your child(ren) are no longer in the hub that is going on the trip, you will still receive a notification.

It's great to see the steady increase in the number of parents that have downloaded the school app. We frequently use it to let you know of things that are happening at school that you need to know, especially around trips.

However, if you haven't joined up please do so.

Our school app is available for your phone and is a good one-stop spot for notices, alerts, important links and more. Download it by searching 'SchoolAppsNZ' and then 'Amesbury' in the App Store. It is free to download.

Munch Eco Shop

New products now available on Kindo.

As you might know Munch Cupboard is an award-winning social enterprise. Our drive is to assist in social change to make the world a better place for the next generation.

Our ethical fundraising is local, community focused, environmentally focused and educationally fun. We believe that if we educate our children, they will in turn educate the world. Munch is by parents for parents and Amesbury receives 20% on all sales.

Tots to Teens Magazine

The new Feb/Mar issue digital magazine is available here: issue2002w.totstoteens.co.nz/.

This issue we are all about helping parents with back to school life: We have 5 brilliant homework hacks (#5 is very clever), tick off our social skills check-list for your children to master. Our experts advise that you can help young children with reading using “logos” (yep, this is a pre-reading skill in action), and how seeing well is just one factor in a vision test that could be affecting your child’s learning. Try out Simon Gault’s kid-friendly meatball pizza recipe (it’s mouth-watering!), we have 5 healthy sleep habits worth trying out and learn why Dance Therapy is working so well for kids. As always, there are great prizes to win, a Kids’ Fun page to enjoy, and we have the best selection of fun things to do for families.
