Trip to see the Terracotta Warriors exhibition at Te Papa

Koru and Te Rito students will be visiting the exhibition on Tuesday 12th Feb. They will leave school at approx 9:20 am, returning to school just before the start of lunchtime at 12:50pm.

Harakeke students will be visiting the exhibition on Thursday 14th Feb. They will leave school at approx 9:20 am, returning to school at approx 1:20pm.

All children will spend between 45 mins - 1 hour in the exhibition, and they will also have time in other sections of Te Papa, as hubs will go through the exhibition in groups to avoid it becoming too busy. Children will all have morning tea at Te Papa, and will return to school for lunch.

The cost for the trip will be $14 per child. Parents will be invoiced for the cost of the trip through their school account. All students will need to wear school uniform for the trip, and we strongly recommend that they have a named drink bottle in their bag. Students will need a well stocked lunch box, as trip days tend to make children really hungry! All groups will have their lunch back at school, but they will all be having snack breaks during their trip, so a number of small snacks that are easy to eat would be very useful.

Please note, Harakeke students will be returning to school part way through lunch time, so please do not order a lunch order on that day for your child.

We have a number of free adult places for both trips and we would love to have whanau joining us as additional support for this fabulous trip. Our plan is for adults to be with small groups of students to allow some choice when they are in exploring other parts of Te Papa. There will be spaces on buses for adults to travel with us to Te Papa, and you are also most welcome to take your own car (which will be quieter!) and meet us there. We do ask that adults coming as additional support do not have younger children with them, so that full attention can be given to the children in their group. If you are keen to join us on this exciting trip, please contact Gemma as a Te Rito parent (gemma@amesbury.school.nz) or Demelza as a Koru or Harakeke parent (demelza@amesbury.school.nz).  Please let Demelza know which trip you are available for.

If you have any questions about the trip, please contact Demelza or Urs (urs@amesbury.school.nz). It is a fantastic exhibition and the trip promises to be a very enjoyable one.

Warm regards,

The Amesbury team
