Lantern Making Workshop

By: Demelza Topp | Posted Tuesday January 29, 2019

These workshops will run for an hour and each student will have the opportunity to make a lantern for the 2019 lantern festival on Dixon Street. Here is a link to information about the Lantern Festival 2019.

Please be aware that each lantern in the festival will have a card attached with the child's first name, so the organisers can identify who each lantern belongs to. Also, be aware if you would like your child to participate in the competition, a photo of your child's lantern (your child will not be included in this photo) along with their first name, their age, their hub and their school will be posted on the Wellington Night Market's website. Your child does not have to participate in the competition.

If you have already indicated on the enrolment form that you do not give consent for your child’s photograph, name or examples of their learning to be used in digital or printed form, then your child will automatically be on the list to not be part of the competition. If you have given consent on the enrolment form, but would prefer that s/he was not part of the competition, please email your child’s hub team leader (Te Rito - gemma@amesbury.school.nz; Koru and Harakeke - demelza@amesbury.school.nz).

The organisers have also asked if they can take photos of students with their lanterns to display at the festival. They will take photos of students in groups. If you have already indicated on the enrolment form that you do not give consent for your child’s photograph, name or examples of their learning to be used in digital or printed form, then we will make sure your child does not have their photo taken.
